What is Black DOT
Recently Apple device users have encounter a new bug or virus that can crash the the phone completely and it comes in your iMessages. All iPhone users therefore should be aware of this bug, i.e The Black Dot. It is affecting the phones all over the world.
This bug is similar to the Whatsapp “Bomb” and it works as same as that. It overloads the phone with thousands of pieces of Unicode text. This has given name”Black Dot” because it is visible in the form of a message as a black emoji. This black emoji is surrounded by invisible thousands and thousands of characters that overloads the CPU and hence crash the phone.
How to delete this
For Apple users or iPhone users, it is difficult to delete the message once received. But yes there are certain ways by which it can be done. When any user will get the message and will open it, the screen of the phone will go blank and will remain as it is blank until the Apple company issues a way to deal with it.
If you will restart the phone, the text will continue to reload and at the last will crash the phone giving you no other choice. There are certain ways to delete the message. One is to use the 3D touch to press and hold the message icon and then tap to the “New message” so that to gain access. Second way is that you can cancel the new message and this will take you back to the list of the imessage conversations. Then you can hit the edit button to delete the bug message.
But if you are using a way older version of iphone then this may not work for you. Another method to avoid the message is that you can ask SIRI to start a new conversation that will give you back the access to the messages.
Another way of avoiding it is to ask Siri to start a new conversation and this will also give you back access to your messages.
This bug can also be used to disable ipads. The older devices are more vulnerable. Hope Apple will come out with a solution soon.
